Had the pleasure of dealing with Steven for the sale of our new driving school car. This gentleman saw the sale through from start to finish and nothing was an inconvenience to him as he stayed on passed the normal opening hours to accommodate us and our work hours. We also want to mention his colleague Daniel as this gentleman had finished his work on a cold, dark, wet and windy night and stopped on his tracks to give us a hand loading it onto a trailer and securing it. Having previously driven the same second hand car for 14 years, I was reluctant and nervous to change vehicle - but it really was overdue.
John and his team didn't just push a stock car onto me; they listened to my specifications and found me a car that matched my needs.
Upon exploring an example of the chosen vehicle, John took on board my insecurities and never once made me feel foolish. He encouraged me to test drive both an example of the car I'd picked and also an automatic car (as I was switching from manual to automatic, also a new concept for me). I left feeling confident in my choice and was excited to see the car when it arrived.
John and his team took special care to ensure the used car he selected for me was in tip-top condition. He had it valeted and even repaired a small dent in the body, which he pointed out to me. Upon collection, he took me through some of the features of the integrated head unit on the dash - as this was something I didn't previously have. I'm now not so intimidated by all the extra buttons!
Honestly, if you're looking for a used car and want frank guidance, top quality stock to explore, friendly service and reassurance that you're putting your money in a good place - you need to get down to John Barrs.
As with the other reviews for John Barr Cars my whole experience with the team here has been superb and quite unlike experiences I’ve had elsewhere. The car was fairly priced and the few jobs that the car required were done without fuss. Personable, professional and relaxed sums up my opinion of buying a car here and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. From the initial enquiry to the follow up phone call after having purchased the car, the whole experience has been first class. Arriving in Belfast from England on the overnight ferry, we were collected from the ferry terminal at 7.15am by Steve and taken to the showroom to view our car and complete our purchase. Needless to say when we saw our car for the first time we were not disappointed. It was everything we were told it was and more....we were delighted with it. Steve's efforts to keep us informed, meet and greet, completion of sale were all beyond our expectations and he even threw in a little tourist information for our weekend stay in Belfast. Our car has been faultless with not 'teething problems' it's been an absolute pleasure to drive. To me, buying a used car requires 2 reviews: one at the time of purchase, the other a year later. This review deals with my recent purchase of a 3-year old Toyota Corolla hybrid with the assistance of Stevie.
At this early stage, I am delighted with Stevie's professionalism, how he answered questions, his patience and, most impressively, how he listened to my needs, to my evolving understanding of what type of car would suit me best.
We road tested a few but none really clicked. "Don't worry - we will get a car that suits you" Stevie advised. And he did. A car I would never have considered, one that I had quickly discounted on the website. "Give it a try - it meets all your needs" was his bold statement. "You have nothing to lose." It was excellent and I am now the proud owner of my first hybrid, a stepping stone to full electric a few years from now. Thanks Stevie. I would have given you 5/5 had you offered me a cuppa on my first visit ! See you in a few years - milk, no sugar please.
